Most importers ask the same question before every order: is it worth paying for air? The answer usually comes down to three things: how soon you need the goods, how heavy they are, and how much they are worth.
When air makes sense
Air freight wins for urgent orders, spare parts, samples, electronics and anything valuable and light. Airlines charge by chargeable weight, so light but bulky cargo can cost more than you expect. Use the air weight calculator on our Resources page to check before you ask for a quote.
When sea makes sense
Sea freight is far cheaper per kilo and handles anything heavy or bulky. If the goods can wait two to five weeks, a shared container (LCL) or a full container (FCL) is almost always the better deal.
Not sure? Send us the weight, the size and the date you need the goods, and we will price both options side by side.
